Mosaic hops 17.5 as??

I ordered 100g mosaic hops with alpha 11.5, year 2020 but the packaged is labelled aa 17.5! And it’s 2019 not 2020.

Thinking must be a typo but not 100%. Anyone any ideas?

personally I would get in contact with whatever source you purchased the hops from and ask what’s going on mate, everything seems well off

Could it be a 1 written badly that looks like a 7?

I've not had any hop pellets from 2020 yet, they've always been 2019. Still, it doesnt match the description.

AA of all hops can vary greatly batch-to-batch, year-to-year.

Must admit, I never check what the description says when ordering, just the hop type. I was a bit disappointed when the latest batch of Fuggles arrived with an AA of only 3.3, means I need twice as many to achieve the target IBU as the last batch. Yours has gone in the other direction, if they are 17.5 then you won't need many for bittering.

GEB have lupomax mosaic on their website. They are 17.5% AA, maybe you have been sent them by mistake?

Cheers for the feedback. Just finished up for the day! There were regular hops mistakenly marked the same as lipomax by mistake. I’ve also got some of them for the dry hop. Good of getterbrewed to get back to me on a Sunday with clarification though.
