I never used to use a mobile much..usually it would be the Mrs pestering about some trivia...but the last year it's become a bit much...suppose having the two kids with them too and all their requests and demands doesn't help. Then there's the on hand info for everything should you need it....not to mention yapping incessantly to people who brew beer!

I was on EE and was due to upgrade, I wanted any phone for a reasonable deal, turned out if I cancelled with EE and went to carphone Wearhouse and rejoined EE it would save me over £400, I got a Google pixel 2 with 24month BT sport, 8gb, unlimited mins and texts for £30 a month and £10 upfront, they (EE shopshop) wanted £100 upfront and £56 a month for less value

Interesting druid...if I may ask. ..how old are you, what do you do etc? Just wondering which section of society, if any,can do without a mobile phone.
I know relatively recently there were none but now they're here it's like you can't possibly live without one.
I do agree to an extent they are the work of evil...

Im 52...Im an orthotic /prosthetic technician. I have an old landline at home that is connected to an answering machine. If you want to leave a message...with any luck I will call back. If you really need to talk directly to me....you can usually find me next door at my local with a dark pint in my hand and carrying out conversations face to face with real people.....(much prefer it that way... :beer1:

After some deliberation and being tight I opted to splash out another £ or so a month and went for the Hauwei p smart. So far so good....

I'm 52 too, and spent many years as an O/P technician... and still got a landline phone with answering machine! I can't see the fuss about having the latest (ie pricey) mobile. All the yoof freak out over them. Nah, mines a cheapo but makes and receives calls / texts, allows me to waste time on this forum and buy stuff, as well as play porn glitch-free. Ye - I'm happy with it.
