I've got one with the dreaded plastic bung. They seem to go along with the ones that use a button to serve rather than a tap that turns.

Does this pull out as one piece or should I knock the centre in as you would with a rubber one?

Well, I pushed the middle of the valve in and judging by the sound and shards af plastic that's not the way to do it. Ordered a rubber bung/valve off eBay so should be ok once I've removed the remnants of the old one.
