Howdy folks. Does anybody know if there is an adapter to connect a basic beer engine to this keg below. No co2
I'm pretty sure there isn't, But if you want to "draw up" the beer with a beer engine, let the beer condition, let the pressure out through the top vent, remove the vent and its rubber grommet, stick a peace of tube into hole with something to keep it off the bottom so it doesn't draw up the yeast and fill the rest of the hole with cotton wool (the air's got to get in to replace the beer you draw out so the tube needs to be a loose fit in the hole), sonnect up your beer engine.
There's no way of using the bottom tap with a beer engine.
If you're going to do that, why not condition the beer in the BiB? Personally I would prefer to use the party keg for its intended purpose and dispense through the tap in the way it was designed. In fact I have a bitter and a mild where I'm doing just that. The keg is designed to simulate real ale, many (Adnams) are conditioned by dosing priming sugar and yeast into the keg and the excess pressure can be vented before dispense through the top vent. I don't vent the pressure first, I draw the beer from the tap under pressure and don't open the vent until I can't get any more beer. The beer won't start to spoil until the top vent is opened.Thank you, that's an option. I'm very new to home beer and will be being very soon but have a lot to learn. Regarding this keg. Is it possible to simply empty the keg into a BIB as I have a connector for those. Obviously the bag would then be left to rest for a few days. Is that a possibility?
Only if you can transfer to the bag without any oxygen getting to the beer. It will start to spoil as soon as the beer comes into contact with oxygen. Once tapped these kegs should be finished within three days ish.

It's a bit of a small container for using with a beer engine, don't you think? But at least a couple of you could finish it in a sitting, which would be ideal.
It looks the part. Especially if you can get it to stand upright on the bottom. Is it small enough to fit through the hole in the keg?It is small I agree, it's just I have a few pumps in the bar and trying to accommodate each guests preference and really want it to look the part when pouring. I like the idea of dropping in the top. Would something like this help and allow me to just drop the hose into the bottom?
