Its bigger than 15mm as folk have used 15mm tube for diy draught mods ;) out side with a torch and some old scrap plumbing copper tube you could melt out some core?? and perhaps a hot knife could melt further weaknesses into it too?

off the top of my head the hole in standard minikegs is 18-20mm sorry cant check easily atm.. boring out with successive HSS drill bits upto 15mm is the way i would go to start with but i have a 15mm hss bit for brass tank connector mods ;) .. if considering using hole saws, blade bits or forstner bits i would go really slowly..

The hole is 22mm. The plastic part of the bung is approx 19mm with a bit of rubber covering where it fits into the keg.
Just realised I might have something to use for extracting the bung.
It's a watch glass remover. Screw the black handle and all of the pawls tighten up together.
Think I will put some insulating tape on top of the keg to protect it and give it a try (When it's empty of course)

I have no use at all for such a tool, lets hope i dont spot one on ebay after 3 too many samples..

Even after a few samples it would be hard to come across one of these by accident .
It's been tucked away in a draw for years. Brought it out of retirement.

Didn't work. The barbs that hold the bung in place are too strong. Couldn't pull the bung out without damaging the keg.
Ended up using a small drill bit at an angle to drill from the middle into the bung. If you drill straight down it's hard to miss the metal. Came out easily after drilling 6 holes. Pretty confident I will be able to get the next one out without damaging the keg.
No way you can use these bungs again though. Ordered a dozen from Leyland home brew at 50p each, along with a couple of easy kegs to make it worth the £6.50 postage.
