what effect will bottled spring water have on home brew ? I was reading the side of a bottle highland spring and it contains mg/litre
Bicarbonate 150
Calcium 40.5
Chloride 6.1
Magnesium 10.1
Nitrate 3.1
Potassium 0.7
Sodium 5.6
Sulphate 5.3
I'm asking as I'm gonna do a partial mash and I'm thing if I put the water in the fridge I can top off my wort and cool it down at the same time... Well that's the hope anyway. Can anyone see any problems doing it this way with the bottled spring water? Cheers guys

Same here. As a general rule, harder water with higher amounts of dissolved solids will work better for darker beers like stouts. It's to do with the resultant acidity achieved by the time you add your grist to your water.
