Right, I'm on the path that will eventually lead to an AG setup....but getting grain supplies isn't going to be exactly easy up here....

Transport issues aside, the one thing I am unsure about is how long milled malt will keep and what's the best way of storing it? There's no point in me ordering in a bulk of the stuff if it is going to go off on me.

As an aside, would it be easier to eventually invest in a miller and do my own malt (presuming whole grain will keep longer, that is)?
 
Similar to Wendy, I got a sack ready milled from Rob, 'The Malt Miller' and due to circumstances I wasn't brewing and some of the grain was left in sealed bags in a storage box for nearly 12 months :!: When I did get to use it, it was absolutely fine :thumb:
