I have been reading Ron Pattinson's blogs recently http://barclayperkins.blogspot.co.uk/2014/01/mitchell-butler-mild-ale-1935-1993.html, and I think we should all make the effort to brew more mild this year. A completely underrated beer, and probably not widely know about in various parts of the country, but having drunk gallons of the stuff here in Brum, some good and some bad, it is one of my favourite beers. Now I have brewed Sarah Hughes Dark Ruby, a mild of yesteryear, and it is superb, but ashamedly I have not brewed an actual lower abv mild that I drunk so much of in the past, but I am aiming to correct that with a version of Highgate Mild, the brewery now sadly closed http://www.morningadvertiser.co.uk/General-News/Highgate-Brewery-mild-protest-won-t-suffice.
