Morning good people.
I hope all are keeping well?

I have a quick question, I recieved through the post this morning my new king keg pressure barrel, however the company I ordered it from have not included the locking nut for the tap. I have found in the shed one that fits but it's made of some kind of brass/metal. Would this affect my beer at all? It needs bottling tomorrow so the clock is against me. Many thanks.

You can leave your beer in the FV (provided you don't fiddle with it) for a couple of weeks past when it would have otherwise been packaged, or even longer. This will give you time to get sorted.
Copper is fine for brewing/beer, but your locking nut is unlikely to be made from that. Not sure about brass being compatible. Stainless steel is fine, carbon steel is not.
But if you want to get your beer packaged and don't have any bottles ready, and have access to a supermarket, 2 litre fizzy water bottles are OK in an emergency (under 20p a pop) . You may just need to use with a serving jug and drink the beer a couple of days from opening. Personally I have never found that to be a problem. wink...

Brass contains lead and beer is mildly acidic. Out of an abundance of caution I would not use it if it's brass.

I wasn't aware I could leave it in the FV, this might buy me some time to source the correct part. I have emailed the supplier, hopefully they can send me one next week.
