Currently it’s honey for me - fantastic combination of umami savouriness and sweetness.

Strawberry jam, or cheese on top of marmite, toasted. Actually toasting Marmite, thickly smeared on toast, gives a fantastic taste.

If you're perverted enough to like marmite with honey, perhaps you'd like glodden syrup on your toad-in-the-hole, which is also excellent!

Marmite, peanut butter (Crunchy) and hot dog sausages in a Breville. I use veggie hot dogs, but I shouldn't imagine there's much difference. This is the king of all umami sandwiches (even better with vegemite).

Marmite on toasted brioche buns, makes a lovely light snack.

My son (9) will happily have one slice of toast with marmite and one with chocolate spread then sandwich them together and eat them.

I like marmite and cream cheese in a sandwich. I'll also have two slices of toast, one marmite, one peanut butter but have yet to be brave enough to put them together. Must be okay though as they started selling marmite peanut butter a while back.

I think the inclination to put sweet condiments on Marmite is to subdue the saltiness, I do like kippers with strawberry jam. Also prefer Vegemite spread thinly on toast.

Yep, that’s a good one. Not to be confused with the marmite peanut butter sold in jars. Not nearly enough marmite for me.

A slight aside - for the ultimate savoury overload - Bovril and dripping. Don’t ever admit to eating this to a doctor! I found this in a little sandwich shop near Huddersfield some years ago. It would probably be banned as weapons-grade bad food these days

Marmite and Peanut Butter in sandwich with lettuce & mayonnaise. Or...
Marmite and a slightly waxy and not too strong cheese - Emmental, Gouda etc. Or ..
Marmite, sliced tomato, cream cheese on white or rye bread.

OT: Foxy above just reminded me of a boarding-school revelation - kipper + fried bread + marmalade.
