Man Flu Alert, and it's serious, Beechams flu plus tablets and all that!

Only just about going to have the energy to go to the footy tonight!!!

Can you imagine a worse case scenario........

Scientists finding a cure for colds and flu !!!!!!!

Squirts would top the sickness note use I'd guess.

Is it not strange that self employed workers never get such a thing , while those that work for large companies seem to get it the most . I've never had a '' normal job '' with holiday and sick pay and i've gone to work puking , stab wound (2 weeks in hospital 1 week home then hobbling around at work) , my right arm in a sling (had an op on hand day before) , last days of food poisoning ( quick wheres the bog ) and so on . Come on lads if you want to be a man , be 1 . :nah:

I'm permanently employed thank you.

2 days off sick in 16 years.
One of which I was in hospital. The other I had proper flu (as in you cannot physically get out of bed, crawl to the toilet type flu).

Fortunately, I'm able to work from home though which does help.

Which only goes to show no man flu here :thumb: ( i didn't mean all employed , it's just from this sector it magical comes from)

Be careful Johnny I had it once and nearly died

In seriousness I am employed full time and have had 3-4 days off in 13 years off and those days are only when I couldn't stray too far from the toilet, and certainly couldn't risk my 45min train journey

Aaaaaaaaaarghhhhh! Now the good lady is claiming she has a cold too... She doesn't seem to understand her sniffle is no comparison to what we men have to go through :D

You want to be carefull there, although very very very rare, a woman can actually catch man flu.

Problem is man flu can kill a woman as it's so strong and potent only men can handle it ;)

FACT!!!!! That's why it's best for them to bugger off lol

I have nothing but contempt for those who come in to work acting the martyr and spreading their germs around. As a manager I would rather one of my staff took a day or two at 0% productivity rather than come in, work at 50% for two days and spread it to the rest of the team who each do the same! I have made it quite clear to them not to come in if they are going to spread their germs around.

I am also a manager - as I said above - I have the facility to work from home. However, having a common cold shouldn't be a reason not to come into work (unless you work in a particularly sterile environment).

One guy I work with has a cold every other week. If he took a couple of days off every time he had a cold, he'd be on disciplinary before the end of month 2.

I don't know about you, but we have to do "return to work" interviews, even if they only take 1 day off. I also have to do a full report on my team every month about the number of days off, why, trend them and so on.
