Never use MM they are too expensive for a mass dealer. I use CML for hops and yeast same as Rod and generally THBC for grains and sundries.
All three inc MM give very good service I must say

Thanks for all the feedback, it has been really interesting reading through. There are a couple of of different factors to look at here.
Firstly, the QR code. This is going to be something that you really will be wanting to follow as the amount of information, giveaways, competitions, special offers etc that will be associated with it is going to be really impressive. We can adjust what is shown on the QR code in real time which means what appears today maybe different to tomorrow, on the same pack. Obviously the changeable data such crop year, alpha, COA etc. Stay the same. Just a note on the COA, this will be available on the QR code of every packet which will be of interest and help to brewers.

For the alpha content of the hops being printed on the bags, it is very easy for us to do. This packaging is really only just hitting the market so this early feedback is appreciated and will be listened to. Since you have shouted ( loudly ) it will be looked at right away.

Order you hops elsewhere. TMM wil soon get the message. They're grossly overpriced in any case. Cheapest overall is HBC, but they don't stock some obscure vairieties like Nectaron so £9.75 at MM and £7.95 at CML. I haven't been back to MM for years- they're nothing special.
Edit Citra MM £7.95, HBC £6.95. N. Sauvin MM £7.75, HBC £5.95.
Don't forget to factor in free ostage at CML.

If you look closely you will find that MM are cheaper than CML for some varieties although this is only applicable if hops are part of a larger order where the shipping charge is spread between several items.

Thank you, that is good to know, although I am still surprised that anyone thought is was a sensible idea to omit the AA from the packet in the first place.

I really don't see why MM can't have a QR code (if that's what they want for stock management) and print on the packet what we care about as brewers as well i.e. the year of harvest/AA%.. its like its a deliberate effort to force people to hit the MM website more often to drive up traffic etc.

The other issue is what if the site goes offline temporarily (or permanently!)? Not suggesting they are in danger of shutting down, but as ever with online information, they are only as good for as long as someone is paying the hosting costs and the hosting provider is online.

As someone said above, imho, this has just created another step for brewers to have to QR the hops and sharpie the information on bags when they land from MM before sticking them in the fridge/freezer

Do they not do this? I’m sure my last few packets of hops had a QR code with that information on.

Some of the HBC hops were really poor quality last time I ordered from them, one packet wasn't even sealed. TMM might cost a bit more but quality is always there IMHO.

And don't CML just do pellet hops? I only brew with leaf.

CML so I, too, buy my leaf pellets from HBC. In the last two years I've probably had around 60-sh bags of hops from them and I've never had a bad one.

I have never had anything but great service from TBC. I placed a huge order with them once and after a week had never arrived. I phoned them up and they just duplicated the order and it was with me in 3 days. Regards hops Ive had a few bags which seemed very dry and powdery - Im not going to loose sleep over it.

I have got to say I have never had anything bad to say about THBC, CML or MM although i do not use MM much but when I have it has been good service.
Never had any bad hops from any of them and I have ordered plenty

This is why I only use them for equipment now. HBC 25kg of pale malt 23 quid!

Brew UK just as bad.
