Hi All,

Have had a go at the raspberry aid that 'second2none' added and experimented further an tried a gallon of strawberry wine wth it. I used a couple of carton of 100% pressed white grape from Morrisons and all smelld great. will let you know the recipie f it comes out.

This got me to thinking about my ciders. I Have a selection of apples to make a mixed apple cider for drinking as normal cider, but have 10 gal of single variety cider brewing and wanted to make some fruit ciders.

They have been on the go for a few weeks and are slowing down now, if i rack it off in to DJ's do you guys think a bottle of syrup a gallon is abut right?. I will stop it about 1.005 and prime with sugar.

Basically has anyone tried this before and how did it come out?

Cheers

"Malina" is just Polish for "raspberry", so I guess you mean the Lowicz syrups you can get from Tesco and the Eastern European shops.

If I understand you correctly you're considering adding a bottle of the syrup to a demijohn and making up to a gallon with apple juice. That's my standard fruit TC recipe, the raspberry and cherry work great, my first batch of blackcurrant is frementing as I type. I always ferment them dry, but it's very nice served slightly diluted with apple juice. Easier than stopping and back-sweetening.

Save the syrup bottles, they're brilliant for homemade cordials and liqueurs (non-drip top).

Edit: I misread, you're already fermenting the cider.. I'd rack the cider onto the syrup and allow to ferment out, be aware that there's a *lot* of sugar in those syrups..
