After 3 weeks in the fv, decided it was time to bottle my Admirals Reserve.
Guess what I did.... I forgot to sterilised them!!!

Oh my god what a prick!

My kitchen is currently a building site and I was trying to do too many things at once.
I do have a good cleaning regime though,
Once a PET bottle is emptied it gets washed thoroughly and the cap put back on for storage.
Then last night I did a double rinse of each bottle in hot water and then washed them in hot soapy water, followed by 2 more rinses.
I was then going to sterilised and rinse again, but I got distracted and just went right ahead and added priming sugar and bottled away happily. It was only when putting my stuff away did I notice the untouched sterilising fluid on the side.
Will I get away with it or do I have 32 pints of gut rot/food poisoning?

Yeast is a clever little organism, it quickly creates an inhospitable environment for its competitors ie. bacteria, by lowering the pH and producing alcohol. There are some bacteria strains which can thrive in those conditions (lacto and acetobacter for example) but as long as the bottles were clean, which it sounds like they were, then I'd say the odds are in your favour.

My first brew was using the coopers microbrewery kit. The instructions stated that the bottles came pre sanitized so I took their word for it and just went ahead and bottled without sanitizer. On my last few bottles I noticed a thing layer of dust on a few of the bottles, so they got a rinse and then they were used as well. Didn’t get any infected bottles but they did get drunk pretty quick. I’ve obviously not taken that chance since but my point is you’ll probably be fine

I second what Strange Steve says. Not a great environment for many bad yeasties

As you've bottled into PET, you're not going to have any problems with exploding glassware. You would be very unlucky if your beer is spoiled. It is likely to be fine.
