I've seen a few videos about cornies that suggest lubing the seals of the keg in order to get a better seal. Is it necessary? if so could I use Vaseline?

Cheers guys :thumb:

Just one more question, I've read the instructions on purging air out of the cornie, however, it says to gas up to 20psi, shake the cornie then pull the prv to let the air out. Surely this is going to oxidise the beer? Or am I missing something?

Cheers!

When you've put the beer in, gas up to 20psi. Leave for a couple of minutes then pull the PRV out. Do this a couple of times then you've got the air out.

No need to shake unless you're trying to force carbonate quickly. Which I wouldn't.

Alternatively fill with no rinse sanitiser of choice (Mine is boiling water) attach Gas in and black disconnect and blow the sanitiser out of the keg . . . the keg is then purged of any oxygen . . . transfer the beer in down the Beer out dip tube.

Alternatively pressurise to 20psi once you have beer in there . . . then pull the release valve . . . repeat a few times . . . it doesn't minimise oxygen pickup on transfer though
