hi guys, I,m new to home brewing and this forum so please bear with me, I've successfully brewed a batch of lager at the third attempt I might add, I'm bottling in 2lt pet bottles, and after opening pouring into a jug to avoid the yeast, the lager tastes fine the first pint out of the bottle has sufficient carbonation and not a bad head, but the second glass I pour is really flat do I need a tad more sugar in the secondary fermentation or am I using to big a bottle, any help would be great, thanks.

hi and welcome , priming with sugar will vary on type of beers , lagers need the most to get a good fizz , just under 10g per litre for most brews around 5g , easiest way is to batch prime , get a 2nd Fermentation vessel , boil around 200g of sugar with a pint of water for 10 mins then cool to room temp add to 2nd FV then transfer brew to 2nd then bottle this will be easier to get a good amount of correct sugar for whatever size bottles you use , also for lagers glass is best but pet are ok and btw avoid bubbles when moving beers from 1st to 2nd and bottles
