Surely If you water down a 1040 wort to 1010 you'd also dilute the sugars and bitterness by the same factor?
Good point the sugar you would loose only what the yeast would eat but the bitterness would be an issue so doing it with 1 bottle from a normal batch isn't an option.Surely If you water down a 1040 wort to 1010 you'd also dilute the sugars and bitterness by the same factor?
I wouldn't expect it to be great but would it be like/as good as other low/no alcohol beer or just nothing like beer?
So...got Big Drop Stout and Pale Ale in the post. The Pale Ale is quite nice. Better than Nanny State - significantly so. I would say that I was a wee bit disappointed with the Stout. It felt like there was something missing. Like you need the alcohol to bind the different ingredients together. Will need to try another to confirm :-)Pulled the trigger on 8 stout and 8 pale from Beer Hawk :-). I'll definitely leave feedback for you. Thanks for the heads up.
Yeap, that is pretty much the conclusions I came to. I guess there will be souls who prefer the "stout".So...got Big Drop Stout and Pale Ale in the post. The Pale Ale is quite nice.
