loss of temperature

Just tested the insulation round this home made mash tun I wrapped a 5 gallon fv in the silver radiator reflective stuff and its lost 9 degrees in 90 mins ive wrapped it double and ive even done lid and bottom dont know what else i can do. Ill try again tommorow with added bubble wrap :cry:

Your better off with a cooler box mark or some hot water tank insulation.

you will find it will lose less when the grains are in

My first tun was a bucket wrapped in aluminium foil, then fibre glass, cling film and foil again before wrapping in tape. Stood it on some styrofoam from the printer packaging. Wrapped with a sleeping bag

Only lost 0.5 over 90 min :thumb:

Years ago I used an old rug with bungees tied around it, did me proud for years.
