The harp is good, not far from the porterhouse, closer to trafalgar square. Draft house on Charlotte street in Fitzrovia. If your over that way there is the Craft Beer Co, as previously mentioned. Belgos for Belgian beers and food, one in seven dials and one on holborn road. Lowlander Grand cafe dury lane. De Hems in China town. There are also a few nice pubs behind the royal courts of justice.

Oh and edit, there is also the market porter and the Rake in borough market

The Rake used to be my favourite spot for a drink when I 'missed' my london bridge train and had to wait for another one.
Last time I went last month the selection was still amazing but it seemed hard to find a pint that was under £8

+1 for the Lowlander for belgians too. Belgo's selection was a bit underwhelming when I was there last but I did have a lovely bottle of Duchess de Bourgogne

Edit: I actually work round Fitzrovia a lot but haven't been to the Draft house yet, will have to check it out...

£8 bloody hell. Better raid the piggy bank

I do remember getting stung £16 for a half of some American made Russian Imperial...

Nice beers in there but you do need to choose carefully :/

To be fair to them, the pricey ones were all interesting and often understandably expensive beers (Imported double, triple IPAs, long aged sours etc), I guess all meant to be served in halves and thirds. Just not so great for those of us who want a long tasty pint after a rough day :beer1:

Haha, yes and they do warn you about the price but by that point I'm normally committed to it anyway acheers.

The good thing about The Rake is, should you decide you just want a pint of best, The Market Porter is 2 minutes walk away and serves a good selection of cask beers. And Brindisa is opposite that for mid-drinking tapas (and maybe a cheeky oloroso).
