I'm trying to get my brewing salts business right this time... According to the water treatment calculator I'll need approx 6g of calcium chloride for a bitter. I have it as a 33% solution. How many milliliters I need to use?

18 ml (but I reserve the right to change my mind at any time)

^ Hmm, so it really was that simple - just 6g times three... I was thinking that calcium chloride flakes might have some percentage of binding agents that should be taken into consideration but I'm a happy boy if things are this straightforward. Cheers!

Calcium Chloride flakes absorb water like crazy (Ever wondered what is in Damp Rid  ) but basically if you have 33% solution you have 1/3 Calcium Chloride and 2/3 water. So if you add 100g of calcium chloride solution you are adding 33g of calcium chloride so if you need to add 6g of calcium chloride you need to use 6*3 = 18g of the solution . . . Note that as calcium chloride does not occupy the same volume as water in solution for the same mass you cannot use a volume measure . . . you must use weights

(actually I could work it out as volume but I really can't be bothered right now)
