Hi all, I have a wilko cervesa that's just finished in the fv and instead of dry hopping it I have a 250ml bottle of lime juice from concentrate, the ingredients list lime juice from concentrate, lime oil, and potassium metabisulphite, I was thinking of chucking it in, ? would it harm the beer or cause off flavours,

Isn't this the same as a Campden tablet, and might put your yeast to sleep?

It is the same but I’m not sure about any effect on fermentation, the guidance I’ve seen says that to stop yeast fermentation would require so much potassium metabisulphite the beer would be undrinkable anyway.

I think I’d wait for advice from someone who’s actually tried it or just try it in a few bottles this time round.

Forgot to say the brew is down to 1010 so its almost finished, just I would use it up for flavour, I have hops but I doing an ag ipa in the morning I need to start using the kettle again as good as kits can be you cant beat a good ag brew athumb.. thanks for replys

Can't see 250ml diluted to 23L causing any issues with carbonation. If you are sure it has really finished at 1010, go ahead!
From using both lemon and lime juice like this to make Golden Syrup, the lime seems much more noticeable than the lemon.

Think I might just dry hop it instead would hate to ruin it, thanks for all your replys

I’ve used fresh lime juice and zest in both flameout additions and dry hop additions. For the dry hop part I just zested into a bowl and then squeezed the juice over the top, left this for ten or fifteen minutes then added into the beer along with whatever hops. Always worked a treat! Off the top of my head I think I added about 6 or so at either stage, sometimes at both.

If you still wanted to get the lime flavour, you could just add a few drops to the glass when you are about to drink it.

I do that with ciders all the time, trying a few flavours below - cherry worked best. I also quite enjoyed a couple of drops of Malibu in a stout to make a coconut stout.
