I've just bought one of these - it's years since we did any proper brewing and I'm looking forward to it.

Will this boiler be okay to use 'as is' or will it need to be adapted? Clearly, the tap is thought to be suspect. Are there any threads on this forum which might help us to use it?

As a start into the world of home brewing it'll work fine as a HLT. If I where you I would change the tap, they are a pain in the ar*e, if you pop in a 15mm tap you have more control over the flow of water and you'll find it easier to connect a pipe. As for the boiling part don't know what temp it goes to, as I've only taken it to the strike temp for mashing ie 70c-80c.

There's a post that I did a while back that Baz linked to hope this helps... :thumb:

I bought one of these boilers last week, I'm starting to get some kit together to make the step up to AG brewing, i intend to use this as a HLT. I'm just putting a manifold on a coolbox then i only have to think about a boiler! happy days! :D
