Yasssssss! Would be a beautiful thing to see Arbroath in the top flight and The Dees relegated.

Speaking of which, Gayfield is the coldest stadium/place on earth.
My in laws are Dundee “fans”, but I’ve been to more Dundee games in the 20 years I’ve been with my wife than my father in law has, and I’ve only seen them twice in that time.

I was born in Liverpool into a very Red family so they are my first team, however, I grew up near Wigan and whilst I couldn’t afford tickets to Anfield very often, my high school was always given free tickets to Wigan Athletic so have followed them for quite a few years now. Started off at the old Springfield Park before moving to the playground of the gods (me and my pal tried to get that name to stick for the JJB/DW, sadly never did). Glad to see Latics looking pretty good for automatic promotion although it’s not done yet, just glad they are still going after all the shenanigans that nearly put them out of business recently.
A massive turn around since you climbed away from a threatening relegation last season. Your definitely going up no question.

It also helped your cause not to have Jurassic John Sheridan as your manager. You were lucky another club was mad enough to employ him.

Great result that for Oxford tonight. Keeps the dream alive?

Decent point for Wigan. Especially with Rotherham and MK Dons both losing again

Huge result tonight, typical game of two half’s. Awful first 45 and batter them second 45.
Onwards to Rotherham on Saturday and hope their wobble continues.

We have Rotherham last game and was hoping they would be promoted by then and resting but the fact they don’t seem to be dealing with presure well , if they need something that may well Play in our favour. Defo fancy Oxford against them though.

Not sure about that, depends on which Oxford turn up. We’ve definitely got the players to do the job but we’re not playing too well.
If we manage to get a result then Donny come to us last game of the seasons.
I’m keeping everything crossed.

I think we, Swindon Town, have too much to do to make the league 2 play off places. We contrived to lose against a 10 man Leyton Orient yesterday. Truth be told we could still be playing them now and not have found a way through a 10 man defence.

Our wafer thin squad with only one striker and no depth has bitten us when it matters. That, and our abysmal home form. It's a shame because league 2 is utter garbage.

I think the FGR and Exeter in League 2 are fairly set to go up. There is one auto and the play off places to be decided. Sadly, I don't think we have enough about us to be involved. We need to win our last 4.

Good thread @Braufather.

Same here chiefy.

A fee month's ago I'd have said we (Stags) were probably nailed on for promotion. But recently things have gone awry - it's not so much the wheels have fallen off the wagon, more that the whole undercarriage starting to drag along the floor! 😜

Rate Cloughie massively, but we've been found out by a number of potential playoff rivals & the team is starting to feel the efforts of the season now.

Still, compared to where we were back in Oct I can't really complain. Just a shame to have dragged ourselves out of a relegation battle & almost make promotion, only to probably miss out 🙈

Oxford United fan here. All was looking good for the playoffs until recently, losing three games in a week while teams around us gained points. We’ve blown it for this season.
I have to admit Oxford are the best team we've (Wigan) played this year. Sunderland played us early on, then as daft as it sounds had a lucky 3.0 win. Sheff wed were nothing special, they have bannan and that's it. So next season is looking good for you.

I don’t like Wigan, and in pre-season I was co conceded they were going down the Sunderland route of “let’s buy players who have been promoted before without actually knowing if they are any good” but they’ve done very well this season, even if they managed to lose to us 3 times 😂
Wigan had to buy. What people seem to forget is we only had 3 senior players after administration ripped the squad apart. Opposition managers harp on about money we've spent, but we've brought more money in than have paid out. Fair play to Richardson, he's brought in the right players in. Ask any latics fan and the start of the season, and we would have been happy to finish out the bottom 4,promotion was never even thought of

I never said anything about the money you spent, I was talking about the quality of the players you signed, especially the 2 that came from us. I still think you have an awful lot of “very good in L1 but not good enough for the Championship” players and you’ll be more of a Hull or Peterborough next season than a Luton or a Coventry.

Not that our recruitment has been particularly great in hindsight - summer window was very promising but January set us back - we decided to load up on wingers who weren’t match fit; sell our most consistent defender when we had a bit of an injury/form crisis at the back; and sign a 39 year old striker who decided to retire after 6 weeks leaving us with one burned out striker and one injury prone one.

You listened to David Earl's podcast on starting to support Exeter City this past year? Probably not, given who you support? It's very good though.

There is a smattering of talk about Gillingham and how dreadful this season has been, as Joe Wilkinson follows them.

I'd rather drill into my ear drums and poke my eyes out with cocktail sticks. 🤣
