In the garden in my new House is a mahousive lavender plant. I've only just found out its a herb and it can be used for cooking, so I thought can it be used for Homebrew cider or wine?

If anyone has any good ideas and want some they are more than welcome to some

I love using lavander in cooking, but I have never used it in homebrewing. What a wonderfull Idea.
Let me know how it goes!
Sorry I cant be much help, :wha:

A friend of mine made lavender mead which was absolutely lovely. Think he used the flowers in the secondary.

I would make a normal brew and add a bouquet garni of lavender (tie the fronds together in a muslin) and allow that to infuse in your brew, either during secondary fermentation or conditioning. Taste it regularly though, I would imagine if the lavender flavour got too intense it would get quite soapy and ruin your brew.

maybe a lavendar tea bag wine of some sort?

or a soft/summer fruit wine with lavendar?

whatever you brew with lavendar in will certainly help you to sleep!
