Landing on ice

My niece made her first landing on the ice in the Antarctic near the South Pole. (She is on the right of the picture in the Captains seat). She works for a company supplying the the Australian Antarctic survey. Not sure I would want to do that, but she's only 28 so still fearless. :lol:

I've landed on ice (as a passenger) a few times in Siberia, I found that you have no spacial awareness as white is white is white. You have no idea where you are relative to the ground, very frightening. AND I was on a Russian crewed Russian built aircraft - very scary. :sick:

As above, white on white is a beggar, must have been close to instruments only for the majority of the approach, no matter what the visbility.

My mum is still learning how to park parallel to the kerb, and she's been driving over fifty years.
