Hi I'm going to brew lagers from Graham wheeler book on classic European beers.
Can you recommend a good lager yeast?

What style of lager exactly? I find Wyeast and White Labs have a great lager range to match any style.

Hi Danish elephant beer and
German pilsner

I did a German Pilsner with Wyeast 2308 (Munich Lager) and it came out very well indeed and totally matched the south German style. Not sure about Elephant but thanks for mentioning it because I had flashbacks to long forgotten youthful experiences in the 80's when that beer first appeared in the UK. You'll want something alcohol tolerant for that one wink...

There is not that big a difference between the various lager yeasts available. Any of them will make good beer.
34/70 is a good dry option.

I have made over 20 batches with MJ bohemian and it makes a really crisp beer. I have liquid lager yeasts in the fridge but i have used this all winter as i find it reliable and consistent. Just make sure to pitch enough.

Wyeast 2124 Bohemian Lager made a tasty bock and helles for me, not tried any others so can't compare them. Wyeast do a Danish lager in case that helps?
