That’s a bit sad, a score over 40 is often in the placing. Saying that I had the same disappointment with my ImperialGood luck everyone. Had a 43 last year and won **** all, don't think I will beat that this year.

Mini BoS was all. That’s a bit sad, a score over 40 is often in the placing. Saying that I had the same disappointment with my Imperial
That in itself is pretty good, and you know from the score it was a good beer - in fact “Excellent” in BJCP ratings.Mini BoS was all.
Got that for later. Just rushed my roast so stuffed nowJust had @dave_77 Schwartzbier, very nice!!
I got an HM for my American Light Lager. Pretty pleased with that!
Well doneI got an HM for my American Light Lager. Pretty pleased with that!
My Czech Pilsner has mini BOS ticked, what on earth does that mean
Strange how they let the head judge enter the competition.Had a lovely day out in London with the LAB folks yesterday. Some impressive beers.
Things that interested me/my takeaways:
- over half the judges had travelled internationally to be there. I judged with FInnish and Italian judges - they were excellent.
- there were lots of NZ Pilsners - I've never made one!
- people are at their best when doing/talking about what they love - everyone was lovely
- Lucas ran a great comp
- James Wilson knows his stuff as head judge
- Ken is doing great work as the UK BJCP head honcho
- The bus from Norwich to Stratford at 6am was as quick as the train - and quicker when there are engineering works
- London is still a mad city
Cheers
There’s no rule to say they can’t. The main rule for head judge is that they can only judge if they have no knowledge of the association between brewers and beers.Strange how they let the head judge enter the competition
