Well my lager kit stopped bubbling a couple of days ago, i want to bottle it but wont have quite enough bottles!! oops - another schoolboy error

Can i put any surplus in a demijohn with a bung for a while until i get more bottles??

I will only have around 6 litres surplus.

If this should be ok, should i not put any sugar in the DJ!?

jon

If you can get more bottles quickly i'd wait and do the whole batch together.

If you have to transfer some to a DJ - try not to splash as introducing air will spoil the beer, and don't add sugar (primings) until you are ready to bottle :thumb:

Hey Jon,

DJ are designed not to hold pressure!!

I would dash off to adsa/tescos/morrisons and get 3 bottle of their 2L value water (12p ish) a bottle empty them of the water and prime and use them like a normal bottle instead! and the beer will be fine to store it in them until your ready to drink them!

Get yourself some cheap water (supermarket own brand) 2ltr PET bottles not ideal but will let you bottle your brew in one go :thumb:

Yeh dont last long when it hits the bottle........
Still all thats been done now has been smashing, Got my hands on a DJ today so going to try a cider in it.............G
