Im sure this has been discussed before but searching didn't give me any info. I currently bottle into glass bottles, but want to try to dispense to a pint glass. So can I use a pressure barrel with CO2 bulbs? Or will it not hold pressure? How would I go about chilling it? A full fridge for it seems extreme, and I don't have space for it. Or are pressure barrels more aimed at ales?

Yes it will hold pressure and use CO2 sparklets but you need a cap like this.

Chilling would require a full fridge unless you have beer chiller as found in pubs, generally people use cornellius kegs in fridges and call the kegerators. I've not seen a pressure barrel but I don't see why it wouldn't work.

TBH I put my ale in barrels but I have a lager kit to do and will bottle that so I can chill it easily.

The only way i know of chilling a pressure barrel is sticking it in the fridge, i have a king keg and i use it for ales and milds, i pour them into a freezer mug and it chills the beer down pretty well but i wouldnt use it for a lager. One day ill have a chest freezer full of kegs, but until then its bottles for lagers

It won't hold enough pressure in order to be as fizzy as a standard lager brew, if you are using a plastic barrel. You need bottles, or the metal Cornelius Kegs, which are hooked up to gas.
