I did see another thread about this but didnt fancy hijacking someone else's thread
I started a Geordie lager kit yesterday following all the instruction, the only addition that I did was to put the can of syrup into some hot water to thin it up a bit before pouring it into the FV, then added 1Kg of brewing sugar with the specified 4 pints of boiling water using some to rince the can out (well it was about 2L of boiling water) then topped up with cold water and a bit of warm water (boiled and left to cool) so the end result was 5 gallons of liquid at 20 degrees took a OG which was 1.038 then added the yeast as per the instructions and put it to one side to start fermenting.
so now 24 ish hours later and there still isnt any signs of it starting to bubble, now the room where it is, is maybe a little cool at 17 degrees bot the wine and cider that I have got in there (the cider started at the same time) are bubbling away nicely, its just the larger that dosnt seem to want to start,
any ideas greatly appreciated as this is my first attempt at any form of a beer
