thanks folks printed out a couple of the free sheets of labels does anyone know if there is a bigger selection if you pay for it cheers lagerlad

You could try making your own, you can download a free photo shop type program and the just add pictures and some text
I did these using word

What I did below didn't take long, I just googled the beer kit and the went to images and chose one from there, then I just added a little touch of my own to make them a bit more personal

You could use different coloured Crown caps with the addition of a small coloured sticker.
I use 5 different coloured caps and 6 different coloured small circular stickers on the caps
Then write on a sheet of paper what each combination has in it.
No need to remove labels and make new uns for each new brew just cap as normal and add a little sticker. job done and free up more time for drinking

Or get some c. 25mm round white stickers from ebay and download a free word template and print your own cap labels

Something like this.
(the main bottle label is a waterproof sticker and so far they appear to survive a trip through the dishwasher unscarred!)

The sticker itself came from http://www.discountstickerprinting.co.uk/ I think and cost about £50 for blumin loads of them (due to minimum order size!!!) and the logo was made by a designer friend I know.

The cap labels themselves are dead cheap though and any basic printer will be able to knock them out. Bonus is that there is no label peeling needed when reusing the bottle and you can also see what each bottle is when they are in a box/crate without having to pick them up!

I just use silver caps and a sharpie to add a number, which happily coincides with the batch number. I keep a record of all my beers in a notebook with the number written in as well. After a while you get to remember which beer is which so you don't need to refer to the book. I know all of my beers from batch 12 - 20.
