Use a word processor program such as Word. I create i label and then place 4 to a sheet of A4 and print on a laser printer. Laser printers are better as the ink doesn't run if they get wet. There are a few Beer label programs on the internet, but it is easy to do it yourself.
Have also found that standard paper sticks very well with a small amount of skimmed milk on the back of the label, and on the +side they are very easy to remove.
I have made my own with PowerPoint. but another site I came across was grogtag. You can design the label and then right click and save as a jpeg, rather than paying, though I only used it once.
Yes they are good quick and convenient my thanks too to the member who mentioned them. They work well for marking and keeping a track of what's what whilst the bottles are in storage and if the occasional bottle needs to be made to look good I can put on individual paper labels Its not so great a hassle when there's just a few at a time to do. I also colour code with a dot of the paint on the tops of the caps so I've got a reasonable idea what's in what when looking down at them cooling on garage floor.... Its funny how the odd bottle or two jumps into a different batch !
