Got my red belt tonight - 8th kyu Shotokan karate.
This is only 2 steps up from 'ungraded' so not much to shout about, but I am an old man (well, 7 weeks off 59)
Sensei Sherry, who judges the gradings, just got made 9th dan - very rare - and boy does he run a tough class.
We were all almost done in by the time the actual gradings started.
Be nice to get back to our own Sensei!

your doing great ... :thumb: .
my sons into martial arts ...
not sure which one ...
hes in his 30s...
and he goes home Knackered every time...

regards mick... :hat:

Well done,
I used to do it many many moons ago and got to blue which was 6 point up.
It is very hard work especially with the tension training at the beginning!

Once again very well done.

Well done, you're a kick ass grandpa :-)

I won't be a grandpa for a bit yet, my son's not started puberty! - he's only 9.
Took me a long time to find the right woman to start a family with!
He got his red belt too, but only just. Poor stance. We're working on it.

Wow, we're at opposite ends of the spectrum then, I was only 17 when my first son was born and 19 when my second was born, and with totally the wrong woman so now it's just me and the boys and has been for 4 years now but I wouldnt change a thing about it cos they are two perfect wee chaps ( when they're sleeping ) good on you though mate.

  Nice one OB :hat:
I got up to blue belt in judo when I was at school before Osgood Schlatters disease cut it short. Then rather foolishly took up kickboxing for a couple of years when I was in my late teens, cue a couple of Arthroscopies and a lateral pressure release and now I've got the knees of a sixty year old

Congratulations OB. Unfortunately, I also know what its like after a "workout" these days, ...........was thinking of a big dog walk to be precise. ;)
I think I will stick with an alarm and dogs to protect my stash rather than your up front approach. :D
