I have never been his number one fan and have said so many times here but i thought his speech was excellent considering the awful start.

I have a feeling Rod it wouldn't have mattered what he said you would have still said something similar.

I have always wondered why people who dont vote for change are so critical of the governing party when nothing changes!

As its agreed we have a two party system we either vote labour and hope they can turn the Tory mess around or vote Tory and put up with another 5 years of this **** unfortunately we dont have a third option at the moment.

Until we have viable options or this 2 party system is smashed it is a case of lets go round again
Well lets hope if labour do get in they can fix it and people dont forget it took this lot 13 years to completely **** the country its going to take time to repair the damage they did.

This graph is just one example of why you are wrong:

All the graphs, data, pie charts in the world can be manipulated to show whatever you want, the reality of life is the true indicator of the stupid 2 party system

2 things there. I agree we need P.R. But putting your fingers in your ears and ignoring facts isn't sensible.

The trouble is chippy, that after 6 months everyone will be blaming labour for the mess we are in.
I have no doubt some will but they are using their heads and saying in interviews today that this is going to take time they are not going to fix this mess overnight.

@Rodcx500z
I think we all will agree that the current 2-party, first-past-the-post, system is not the best, but its what we have.
Secondly, I’m sure everyone on here knows I all about informed evidence based discussion. I can see why the analytical part of your mind objected to the one posted by @Old Fart At Play (I’m familiar with it and others from the same source). So here’s one you can take as unbiased and independent instead.

I would add that the big spike in 2020 wasn’t good spending, it was the Tories spunk1ng ours, and the next generations, taxes on their mates and helping fund Baroness Moans most recent superyacht purchase.

I should add a couple of caveats to further inform my last post.

(1) For a country of our size and apparent economic standing, sub-10% of GDP spend on health is abysmal. It’s on a par with Argentina, Serbia and Bosnia-Herzegovinia if you would permit me to cherry pick the best performers from around the world.

(2) Our GDP has tanked compared to the rest of Europe (let me know if you want the actual figures, but I’ll warn you that they are depressing) so the %spend graph is getting a rather flattering bump from a smaller denominator.

If I'm honest I'm not sure how much better Kier would be than Rishi, but the last 7 years in particular have been so terrible that the Torys really need time out of power to cut out the dead wood and start over.

Fundamentally there's some serious underlying issues harming the UK that are going to take a decade or more to start to reverse. Fixing them are not going to be particularly popular either.
