Kettle to FV transfer

Up until now, at the end of the boil, I chill the wort to pitching temperature and leave it to stand and settle. Then, turn the kettle tap on and watch the wort with a good lump of trub run into my FV. The wort then clears until the last couple of litres that draws another lot of trub into the FV at which point I turn the tap off.
I’ve not worried about this but was wondering if this is common practice. As an experiment I plan to syphon the wort out of the kettle to the FV on my next brew to see if that works any better. It won’t improve my beer but wondered if anybody else has done this or considered doing it?
 
If you leave it chill overnight, it settles great and is ideal for syphoning.

Course mesh in a bouncer will also get it.

Better still, leave it where it is and sprinkle some yeast on. Trub does not seem to interfere with fermentation, in fact I think it helps (& flavour)

Yes. I've done that for the last two brews and it does settle nicely. The thing is, despite my attempts at whirlpooling the trub insists on settling by the tap entry so as soon as I turn it on a plug of trub comes out into the FV. And even if I slow the flow as the kettle empties trub is drawn of the top and ends up in the FV. Hence giving syphoning a go.
 
On my brewzilla I have added a bend fitting on the back of the tap. I whirlpool and leave for 15 mins which gets the worst of the trubs and hops onto the false bottom. I have got much less trub into the fermenter which has helped with my yeast hitting closer to the listed attenuation levels. As others have mentioned it's good to have some trub I think but when I used the pump to transfer I used to have too much and I used to get over attenuated beers( to what I was aiming for anyway).
