Hi brewers
I am new to this site. I haven't brewed beer before, only wine, so a complete newby. Will kick off with a question:
I anyone familiar with the Kenley tea urn? I've been looking at Burco's on Ebay, as this seems to be the favourite model among brewers as far as I can see. Second hand 20L ones going for around £40-£60, but a new Kenley from well known online retailer for less than £50. From reading some of the postings here it seems the Burco has probs with a rolling boil, but the Kenley has a temperature setting dial up to 110 degs c. It seems a good alternative to the Burco.
Any advice greatly appreciated.

Welcome to the site!
Not sure on the make, but your sizing seems on the small side, what quantities are you looking to make?

Do they come in any bigger size than 20l ? 20l won't be much use for anything other than small brews, maybe about 15 litres - if I was brewing this amount I'd use a pot on the kitchen stove, it should be powerful enough to boil that sort of volume.

To do a standard 23 litre brew you want at least a 30l boiler, and 40l is preferable

Hi Dave
Yep, see my other posting, 15L is about all I want to do, and missus does not like the idea of me doing it on the kitchen stove, she has experienced the smell of boiling hops!!
