In all honesty, I feel labour now have a fighting chance to grow again.
Forget about the impact of the current pandemic we are in the midst off, they will bring back some unity to the party and have a potential opportunity to govern again.

He was awarded a knighthood in 2014 for "services to law and criminal justice" and is entitled to be known as "Sir Keir Starmer".

To be honest i couldn't give a rats arse if he is a sir or not that will not change the way he is going to lead the party.

Well I wish him well. However he has a mountain to climb after the mess that Corbyn and his entourage has done to the Labour Party standing with many former Labour voters. It will be interesting to find out over time, when all the accolades and fanfare has died down to see how much KS moves the party to the right. Too far and he risks disenfranchising himself from the left wing of the party who still have a lot of power within it. But at least some of them have woken up to the fact that very left wing politics are not attractive to the average bloke on the street, and voting someone like RL-B as leader whatever she stood for was not really a credible option as Opposition Leader and certainly offering her as a potential PM would have been nonsense, certainly in my view.

They will grow again under him, but they are finished in Scotland, so the chances of a Labour UK Govt. in the future are not good.

Agreed he is a much more appealing public face that will win votes from the centre and centre left, but with the far left having such a large following within the Labour party, I feel he will be tied up in knots just fighting internal battles.
And if he thinks he can do a clean sweep and get rid of the Corbyn old guard he will learn very quickly that the unions and other major share holders in the labour NAT.exec.committee will completely banjax him.

I voted for Keir and Angela , I now think we've got a good chance of winning the next election. However if Boris invites him to a coalition government then he will get the blame for the current mess from the right wing gutter press.

It wasn't perfect but it was his first speech as leader and he was obviously reading it, if he was genuine in what he said he will do fine.
