hi all just wondered I have just kegged a beer and would like to keep it untouched until I have brewed another but I only have one fridge to use.i have put 30 psi in and removed the gas peg and left it in the fridge but when I checked it today it needed gasing again to keep it at 30 psi I have checked for leaks but have none.
my question is is this ok and will the gas always go down and will the beer keep ok or will I have to keep the gas attached at all time. thanks all

The co2 gets absorbed into the beer so needs topping up periodically, some leave the gas attached permanently, but I've always disconnected mine, the beer keeps fine.
I usually start with an initial charge of 30psi but then add lower pressure
Dependant on storage temperature and desired carbonation level.

thanks how long would you keep it disconnected before gasing again if not in the fridge

For first few days whenever I'm passing after that less often, after a couple of weeks I probably don't need to add any more. (Maybe 3 times a day initially then every few days after that)

Don't forget that cold beer absorbs more gas than warm beer so if you take it out the fridge the pressure may well go up anyway without additional co2 being added
