I've been on the look out for a tall larder type fridge for a little while now primarily as somewhere keep whatever pressure barrel I'm currently drinking from cool. It need to have enough space to fit the barrel in it + an S30 CO2 cylinder hence the choice of a tall fridge and hopefully room for a few bottles too.

The longer term aim would be to convert this into a kegerator to hopefully house three corny kegs + space above for bottles and if there's enough room a 6 kg CO2 cylinder though if needs be that could go outside the fridge.

I've been purposely ignoring the slimline / narrow types of fridge i.e. 55cm width / depth as I thought these might be a bit tight for space. Problem is quite a few of the 55cm fridges seem to come up for sale but 60cm ones less so. Should I hold out for a bigger fridge or is a 55cm one actually big enough for three cornys?

Thanks.

Go on Currys or similar with a tape measure and check the internal dimensions as some maybe equal to the 60cm type due to thermal Insulation type as those may give you the space required and measure up the equipment by mocking up a fixture position as this will be critical.

Hi
I've got a zanussi fridge freezer which is 55cm wide and can get 3 cornies in the fridge section albeit a tight squeeze and use the freezer at the bottom for hops so inside dimensions is the way to go as suggested by Gerryjo

I have a Beko fridge and it houses four cornys, with four door mounted taps.

Thanks for your help folks, off to Currys then with a trolley of cornies, I'm sure they'll be okay with it :D

Guessing the basic upshot here is that I won't really know what will fit until I try it but so long as I can get three in, which seems to be possible in almost any larder fridge, then we're okay. I'll try to find a 60cm job but if the search seems fruitless then I'll go for something smaller. Problem is with eBay, Gumtree, Freecycle etc. is that most of what's on offer is a bit older and therefore no longer stocked in Currys and the likes
