Keg valve stuck open

Hi, I've recently brewed my first beer and have been enjoying it for a few weeks. There's about 25 pints left. The pressure in the keg had dropped recently - possibly helped by the drop in temp. I've topped up the pressure a couple of times with a carbon dioxide cylinder. But tonight I possibly put too much in and the valve has frozen open. It's been about 1 hour now and it's not changed. I've kept the co2 cylinder in place in an attempt to keep some pressure there but i'm worried it won't be a good seal and the co2 will leak out and cause my beer to go off.
Any suggestions please....?

If it's a plastic keg, massage the sealing rubber untill it seals.

It's a king keg.

It could be the smaller rubber beneath the black cap.
This one allows the co2 in, but not out again.
You might benifit from a trip to your LHBS to get some new rubbers.

the small rubber ring had dropped off into the beer.... home my brew isn't ruined

It shouldn't be as the keg will have held the layer of CO2.
At least you now know what the problem was
PS Don't inject your gas too quickly else you may blow it off again :shock:
