Hi Guys,
I hope this is a simple question to answer:
When using Co2 bulbs to increase the pressure in a keg, do you tend to leave the bulb in place preventing the escape of gas and potentially running the risk of over pressurising the keg, or do you detach the bulb as soon as the gas has vented into the keg, and allow excess pressure to escape through the capping valve?....i imagine you could get through a lot of Co2 bulbs if it'sthe latter.

+ 1 for leaving them in or else as you say, you will get through a monkey load of them bulbs!

I found that is a bit of a delicate act to tighten the bulb in enough that it forced the CO2 into the barrel, but not too far or else once the barrel was up to pressure, the residual CO2 in the bulb escaped from it. Some times I get it right and a bulb will pressure the barrel for a good few pints, other times I get it wrong and the kids get another bomb for their lego sets.
