well blow me sideways i have just hit the treasure trove, during my hunt through the endless mess that is my conservatory i have discovered a whole mass of bottled brew, there has got to be like 70 bottles of beer and about 30 bottles of wine.

now some of the wine looks a bit rough (one of the reds has actually seperated  ) and i can obviously see that the rose should of been left longer to clear before it was bottled.
question is shall i try some of the beer? the barrelled stuff i dumped was flat as buggery but smelled ok, surely the bottles will carbonated?
the only issue i can think of is the fact that area gets pretty hot during the summer (considering the summers we have had this may not be a problem)
what do you think? worth a punt?

Of course it is.
Whats the other option

Crack one open and have a tentative sip, you may find this is the best you've ever done :!:

You've got to try it (the beer, anyway)!

I think you'll know as soon as you crack open a bottle if it's nasty or not. Oxidation might be an issue, which would affect the flavour, as would temperature fluctuations, but it wouldn't be harmful just from that. Residual infections might cause "gushers", so avoid those...

Let us know what they're like :)

well i popped one open....

got to say it looked ok but was SOOOOO fizzy it was like lager.
the taste was still good however, im going to enjoy emptying these bottles, now i wonder what the other ones are like!
the only issue is that all the lablels have fallen off so its like tin can suprise! could be anything in there.

how can you loose 100 bottles in a conservatory ?

Well I stopped brewing when our little one was announced, soon after that the conservatory started getting filled with stuff. It got to the stage where you could barely see the other side let alone get to it.
It was while I was looking for my brewing gear that I stumbled across the treasure trove.
And it's about 2 years old I think, hard to tell without the labels, somes likely older.

Me & Ms Bunker are expecting our first in May. I'm still brewing - am I a bad person?! :) :hmm:

Firstly congrats!!
And secondly yes!!

Only kidding :) I stopped as life got hectic and I barely had time to drink.
Good luck mate.

Cheers

I'm hoping the odd brewday will be an island of calm, probably wishful thinking :)

Anyway, how does that 2 year old brew taste??

Not at all.... brew faster though, you'll not get much time to once the bundle of joy is here so you will need an almighty stash :D

It's was nice, like I said its overly carbonated but the hops are subtle and it's got a good bitterness.
If it wasn't so fizzy it would be perfect.

Open them all to let out the pressure then re-cap. That should drop it down a good bit :)
