I'm at a wedding in a converted barn.
There are dried hops being used as decorations.
So clearly something to do with the brewing process back in the day.
I also note these unusual roofs/rooves. Given the horizontal flap, I guessed that the top would rotate and the vertical bit would protect whatever it is from the prevailing weather.
I've googled it and found the answer, but thought it might be interesting to post here.
