Well I've managed to get in a couple of weeks two items I needed for my new brewery rebuild. An undercounter larder fridge for use as a fermenting cabinet, and a kitchen sink. Well worth a post if anybody has never used Freecycle. Although it dos surprise me what some people give away and what some ask for and get. But a great neighbourhood program.

they shouldn't ask for anything on freecycle should they ??

Yup. Because the amount of people that don't believe that other people want the stuff that's been in their loft for years and would eventually go to the tip is unreal.

The point is that if there is a demand, satisfy it and it doesn't get to the point where someone's desperate to get rid, post for a week and take it to the skip.

Its amazing what comes on. I've fetched quite a few dj's , 3 larder fridges, and last week a kids 50cc petrol quad that was a few months old and only needed 6 quid to be running again.

Yes. Freecyvcle is great. Ive got 3 undercounter larder fridges. 1 tall fridge. A fridge freezer. A wheelchair and a mobility scooter and an electric riser recliner chair for my father in law.

Freecycle is amazing, I have got loads of great stuff off there including a load of fermenters, youngs pressure barrels, Demijohns, some HIFI speakers and 6x4" shed :thumb:

I have also given away a load of good stuff too so its not just one way :)

i got my large fridge off there for fermenting, temperamental thermostat but as i use atc800+ no problems for me
given awasy a few of the kids toys

but don't go on much these days

Yes, Freecycle or Freegle is excellent, I've registered with 5 in my local area. A couple of weeks ago I got a 40L Burco wash boiler which I have now converted to become my new boiler, so I'm now able to brew full 23L BIAB batches. I've had loads of Grolsch bottles (about 60) and other Brewing equipment. I got a couple of swing sets (Tubular Products - good make) for me and my son to entertain his 2 kids either at their home or over here visiting granny and granda.

I've also given away loads of stuff which would otherwise have gone to the skip. All in all, this facility is highly recommended!!

That coupled with the Car Boot sale on Sunday I haven't been into a shop and spend real money in anger for months. I'm sure that must be good for my inner peace or something!

Another vote here. Have just recently aquired a batch of 36 brown beer bottles (shop bought empty), used once. Our gas bbq (with an empty gas bottle too) came off it as did my small box trailer. On the flipside it was great when we were clearing my late mother in laws house, lots of things we would have struggled to sell and/or would have made lots of dump runs necessary, just gave it away. And of course people collect from you!
