Hello,

I made a 2 litre Wyeast starter which was foaming nicely after about 48 hours, but, due to unforseen circumstances I have been unable to brew and use the starter. The instructions on the pack say it should be pitched after 24-48 hours but my starter is now over 4 days old. Can I still use it?

Thanks for any advice.

Peter.

So long as it was prepared hygienically and it has been stored under airlock it should be fine :thumb:

I managed to find a few spare hours to make beer last night and I pitched my starter which was now 5 days old. I needn't have worried; this morning there was a large foam head in the fermenter... so, yes, it was still useable!

Thanks.
