Hi all,

I am making Rhubarb wine (hopefully) and have added the yeast to the water , sugar, grape concentrate, rhubarb juice mix to sit for a week in a bucket before putting in a demijohn.

I used 1 sachet Wilko Gervin Univeral Wine Yeast sprinkled on the surface as it says on the yeast sachet plus some yeast nutrient .....problem is that the yeast doesn't seem to be doing much after 24 hours.....just a few muddy looking bubbles floating on the surface :

Is this right ? Should it be doing more ? I kinda expected a bit more life. Has it all gone wrong already ??!

I have a sachet of Gervin Wine Yeast No3 handy....should I add that as well ?

Sorry if this is a dumb question.....I'm very new at this.

Any advice very much appreciated !

Thanks,

Geoff.

Give it at least another 24 hours. Rhubarb very acidic, may be slowing it up. May take longer then that to get going anyway
