Hi all made two Neipa the other week both single hopped one enigma one Vic secret was just doing last dry hop on them and the Vic secret one didn't look right at all weird white bubbles on it and little clumps of white scum. could it be a pellicle from some infections. See picture. don't worry about green it is from the hop pellets I fired in last night.. Smells lovely like Vic secret but haven't tasted should it be okay

Not seen that before on any of my brews. It doesn't look like yeast.
You could try skimming it off accepting you might lose a few gm of your dry hop, which you could then make up.
I wouldn't chuck it yet if even if you think it is an infection, since it might be OK. Package in some PET bottles instead of glass (say 2 litre ex fizzy water 17p or thereabouts from Tesco) and then you can monitor the carbonation/conditioning rather than ending up with bottle bombs. And in the long run if its OK you haven't wasted anything, and if its not and it goes down the drain you just have to put it down to experience.

I have never had anything like that.. But it does look a little pelicile to me.. hopefully someone can add to that who has had that

Yeah have never had it on any brews I have done till now both the Neipa had the same yeast and the other one had none of the weird bubble or clumpy stuff going cold crash it now so hops will drop to bottom and rack into corny

As it's not too vast, can a turkey baster be used to collect each white blob?

Jeez, it looks like radioactive waste. If that was mine I'd be on the blower to some government agency to investigate.

It's not the green I'm concerned about its just hop pellets I put in yesterday for the last dry hop it's the weird bubbles and white which concerned me

Like I say I am not an expert as never seen it in the flesh but the white shards on the perimeter do not look good to me..

not a reason to dump it though.. you could rack form underneath it leaving the last few liters
