so about 5, 6 months back i bought 2 youngs pressure kegs, i've had about 4, brews through them all haven't carbonated or not carbonated up to scratch.
firstly i was using the caps they came with that just had a bleed nose on it and was for second fermentation methods, i found that the c02 would just leak out and the beer wouldn't carbonate sooooo i bought the c02 injector caps for them and the problem with these is they don't hold the pressure in them enough, i've left them for 2 months and the beer comes out with a head but it not really properly carbonated. (yes i vaselined the seals)
my next plan is to get the original caps, seal them off completely so there is no bleed nose, prime them for however long nessisery, then when ready take the sealed cap off and put on the c02 injector cap purely for pushing the beer out the keg.
my only worry is without the bleed nose will the keg explode/leak.
i know everyone going to say those youngs kegs are **** go and buy whatever, your right but i spent 40 quid on these bloody things and i want to try and at least try and get them to work.
anyway do you think this is a bad idea?
