Simple question: owning several hundred bottles and 5 Corny kegs, I quite fancy prewing something that does not have bubbles in it! If I invest in a standard pressure keg with CO2 bulbs, do I need to prime the beer if I just want to maintain enough CO2 pressure from the bulbs to allow it to pour?

no you don't , if you want low carb beer say like a real ale beer with a creamy head and no bubbles then a keg with bulbs is the right way . Even when i primed with 125g of sugar in king kegs i would get a nice head but almost flat beer , was nice and smooth however i like it fizzy .
