Is lager worth doing?

For what it's worth, I occasionally swap beers with a guy who is head of a German bank in the UK.
He tried a few bottles of this 'good enough' beer with a visiting friend who is a Bavarian brewmeister. I was horrified when I found out but the feedback was positive enough that we are still swapping :D

It's Czech. An amber lager, very delicate and smooth. Similar to BJCP's Vienna Lager style, but brewed with Czech hops and often of lower gravity, 1.044-1.046 is perhaps most common. Rare thing in bottles, even in Czech Rep. these days, but popular in brewpubs (minipivovary).

This weekend I was in Olomouc and Cesky Tesin, spent good time at U Konicka in Vojkovice with their Grosak Polotmavy Lezak, it was delicious. :)

None tried yet, I have it on my todo list for this winter's lager brewing season. I think I'll downscale my Vienna lager a bit (originally it was ~1.053). Pilsner, Munich and crystal, maybe a pinch of Carafa I Special for colour, no exact composition yet. And some Czech hops to ~25 ibu as single fwh. This is not massively hoppy beer, nor it has much of hop flavour. As it is not overly malty, yeast will be Wyeast Czech Pils instead of original Munich Lager, I guess.

But time will tell, it's only plans.
